Norwegian Epic

Norwegian Epic

Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Cruise Line’s biggest and newest ship, is now sailing from Miami on alternating Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises every Saturday. The 4,100-passenger Epic set sail Saturday on its first Caribbean cruise. It will remain home ported there through April 2011. The booking volume for the week ended July 10, 2010 is the highest this year, second only to the previous week ended July 3, 2010, the company said Monday.

Here’s a look at what’s noteworthy aboard the Epic:
Entertainment
• Performances by the Blue Man Group, whose show is a fusion of comedy, theatrics and paint.
• An interactive theatrical dining experience called Cirque Dreams and Dinner, which combines music and acrobatics.
Accommodations
• Curved “New Wave” staterooms, where every area is separate, including the shower and vanity top sink.
• The largest Villas suite complex at sea, comprising 60 suites and villas on two private decks at the top of the ship. Accessible only by private elevator, the area includes a private pool, two hot tubs, gym, saunas, sundeck, indoor/outdoor dining, a bar/nightclub and butler and concierge services.
Dining/ Lounges
• More than 20 dining venues, including a Japanese Hibachi grill and an Argentinian Churrascaria.
• The first SVEDKA Ice Bar at sea, featuring vodka and ice wine specialty cocktails in a small venue where everything from the walls to the glasses are made of ice.
