South Florida K9 Competition

BOYNTON BEACH — More than two dozen law enforcement K-9 officers and their canine partners from the Treasure Coast to Miami-Dade County will compete for “top dog” on March 24. Teams will jump over fences, crawl through barrels, climb walls and nab some pretend “bad guys” in a timed obstacle course at Boynton Beach High.

It is the first ever South Florida Police K9 Competition together with Boynton Beach Police Department’s Spring Fest 2012, to raise money for their K-9 unit. It is a free event, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March, 24, 2012 at Boynton Beach Community High School 4975 Park Ridge Boulevard, Boynton Beach, FL

Activities for children, including fingerprinting and DNA kits, a bounce house and rock-climbing wall, and an interactive SWAT mission in which kids don police gear and rescue a kidnapped teddy bear. Scott Stapp, front man for the rock group Creed, will appear at 1:30 p.m. to announce raffle prizes. They include an iPad, grill, bicycle, and gift cards.
